 Sun disc obscuration - Percent of the Sun covered by the Moon at the maximum eclipse. Total eclipse occurs in the area marked by the darkest red color. Annular Eclipse will be visible in the small, narrow areas colored with A2; on both ends of the totality path.

    Legend (Info Window - visible after click on the map):
  • Partial Eclipse Begins - the Moon starts touching the Sun edge.
  • Total Eclipse Begins - the Moon entirely covers the Sun disk.
  • Maximum Eclipse - the Moon is closest to the center of the Sun.
  • Total Eclipse Ends - the Moon starts to leave the Sun disk .
  • Partial Eclipse Ends - the Moon stops covering the Sun.
  • Obscuration - Percent of the Sun covered by the Moon at the maximum eclipse.
  • Magnitude -The fraction of the apparent diameter of the sun covered by the moon. By convention it is usually quoted at maximum phase.
  • Totality Time - time during which the Moon covers the Sun disk.
